E3 model

The Group's CSR-strategy is an important tool to ensure Nexans' long-term resilience and competitiveness in the midst of multiple global crises, like global warming, the population crisis, social and economical crises and biodiversity. The goal of the CSR strategy is to determine a sustainable business model.

The E3 model

Our CSR-strategy is divided into 3 main pillars:

  A safe workspace with focus on employees
• Environment
  Focus on the future of our planet
• Economy
  Doing business in a sustainable and ethical way

These pillars are derived from the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG's), determined by the United Nations. In our vision, these 3 pillars are all equally important and make for a rational and balanced approach. It is the incentive for our profitability.

Furthermore, 9 additional goals have been appointed and a series of important performance indicators have been determined to measure the Group's progress.

Nexans takes the lead towards the electrification of the planet: safely, sustainable, renewable, low-carbon and accessible for everyone. Thanks to the in 2022 introduced E3 model, we can now better focus on this core activity. Today, the first results are visible. We generate more profit, lower our carbon footprint and our employees are proud to contribute to this. This demonstrates the strength of the E3 model!

Nexans & SDG

SDG stands for Sustainable Development Goals and consists of 17 development goals for a more sustainable future. They are global agenda to end poverty, inequality, injustice and climate change.

Nexans Group has been a member of the UN's Global Compact since 2008 and has taken the SDG's as the cornerstone for its CSR-strategy, like SDG 9 (Industry, innovation and infrastructure), SDG 12 (Responsible consumption and production) and SDG 13 (Climate action).
