Nexans makes Sustainability tangible: Carbon footprint per cable now included in quotations
Nov 22, 2024Nexans, worldleader in cable solutions, is taking a significant step towards sustainability by making the total carbon footprint of cables transparently available in quotes. This new approach highlights Nexans' commitment to ecological responsibility and empowers customers to make more sustainable choices.
Thanks to the internationally recognized PEP EcoPassport certification (Product Environmental Profile), we can present detailed environmental data about the life cycle of our products. This Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is based on a comprehensive Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), mapping each product's environmental impact—from raw materials and production to use and recycling.
Unique in the cable industry
The ability to integrate an EPD directly into quotes is unique in the cable industry, supporting businesses in achieving their own sustainability goals. Customers gain insight into the CO₂ impact of their choices, enabling more environmentally friendly decisions for their projects.
With this innovation, we underscore our role as a leader in the transition to a low-carbon future and invite customers to join us in building a more sustainable world.
“ By including the PEP EcoPassport in our quotes, we make sustainability tangible and understandable. Customers gain insight into key environmental factors such as water usage, energy consumption, climate impact, and the use of scarce resources. In this way, we not only deliver high-quality cables but we also help to make informed choices for a better future. ”
